Synopsis[edit | edit source]

The film tells the story of a young man named Harry Holmes who was enlisted to war. Consequently he and his partner are forced to separate. Eventually wounded, he finds himself in a "psychedelic fantasyland" where he encounters a king and his subjects. After insulting the king, the wounded soldier is banished with a blind eye and sent on a wayward voyage through a surreal landscape in search of redemption and his home.[3]

Critical reception[edit | edit source]

Rolling Stone called it a "kaleidoscopic and psychedelic 40-minute silent film",[3] while Spling Movies wrote that "the styling is artistic yet camp and stagy as the curious fable plays out against Corgan’s stripped down album turned soundtrack", adding that it "manages to fascinate with its careful composition, ever-changing retro style, Wes Anderson appetite and enchanting spiritual component."[2]
