The Rock Invasion 2 tour is The Smashing Pumpkins' first proper tour since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. A tour sharing the same name was originally scheduled for spring 2020 in the United States, but had to be cancelled for safety reasons. Only two of the originally booked cities (Greensboro, NC and Memphis, TN) received a rescheduled show.^[1] The tour included four festival dates: Beale Street Music Festival, Beachlife Festival, Welcome to Rockville, and Summer Camp Music Festival.

The May 24th date at Portsmouth, Virginia was cancelled due to "non-covid illness". The venue website said the band was "deeply saddened but this decision was not made easily and was far beyond their control."
