Chloé Mendel Corgan (born September 10, 1992) is a fashion designer, creative director, business owner, and musician. She is the wife of Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, with whom she has two children. The Corgan's own Madame ZuZu's, a tea shop, vegan restaurant and performance space in Highland Park, Illinois,[1] where she serves as the creative director.[2]

Chloe Corgan has occasionally performed live with Billy Corgan, usually as a vocalist but she played piano on one song at Madame Zuzu's one year anniversary celebration.

On Chloe Corgan's 30th birthday, Billy Corgan made a marriage proposal to which she "of course said yes."[3] They married on September 16, 2023, one day before the Siamese Dream 30th Anniversary show.

Background[edit | edit source]

Raised in New York City, Chloe Corgan is the daughter of celebrity fave-designer Gilles Mendel of J. Mendel and Jenny Mui.[4] She is half Taiwanese and half French,[2] and the sixth generation family member of the house of Mendel.[5]

How the Corgan's met is unclear. Chloe was helping manage the original Madame ZuZu's 1.0 location,[6] however she was never an employee of Billy Corgan, and this is not how they met.[2] For a while, they were merely good friends and didn't formally date in a traditional sense, before eventually falling in love.[7]

They have since had two children together. Chloe Corgan gave birth to their son named Augustus Juppiter Corgan[8] on November 16, 2015. They welcomed their second child, a daughter named Philomena Clementine Corgan,[9] on October 2, 2018.

Maison Atia[edit | edit source]

Chloe Corgan studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago working with her father before launching our own faux-fur brand[10] with Gustave Maisonrouge in 2017, called Maison Atia.[11][12] The brand gained popularity among millennials thanks to Gigi Hadid[13] and Vogue Paris named it most trendy faux-fur of the winter in 2019.[14] Mendel is the company's creative director.[2]

In 2020, Billy Corgan wrote the jingle "Maison Atia" with Chloe serving as producer.
