May 24, 2012 was the first show of The Smashing Pumpkins' Oceania tour. It was announced four days prior on the band's Facebook page as the "Not So Secret Show". The band was originally booked for the Rock Coast Festival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on this date, but the festival was cancelled. The Madrid show was mostly seen as a warm-up to the band's appearance at Rock in Rio Lisboa V two days later.
