The band was originally booked for the Rock Coast Festival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on this date, but the festival was cancelled. The Madrid show was mostly seen as a warm-up to the band's appearance at Rock in Rio Lisboa V two days later. The show is notable for opening and closing with "Black Diamond" by Kiss.
