December 18, 2021 was the first night of the Madame ZuZu's Christmas Show. Proceeds from the event benefited PAWS Chicago.[1] Billy Corgan's set was preceded by a comedic interpretation of the Ghost of Christmas Past by Oceania photographer Richard Shay, and harpist Janelle Lake who did a cover of "Today".
The event took place the day after the death of Corgan's father, William Corgan Sr. Some believed Corgan and his family would cancel the event, but as he put it, "the show goes on, that's what my father believed in".[2]

Banter[edit | edit source]
…
BC: (speaking to daughter Philomena) Are you going to sing with me?
(crowd cheers)
Do You Hear What I Hear? (Philomena holds mic through most of the song but is silent)
…
BC: …the last few years. So on a kind of Christmas bender, I kind of threw this one out. And in preparing for this show I found the song. I thought 'That's odd, I don't really remember writing this song.' It happens sometimes. And so, this is the debut of this song as well. And no one has heard this song except my family, so I hope you enjoy it. It is called "The Magi and the Shiny Bright."
