"Wyttch" is a song from The Smashing Pumpkins' eleventh studio album, CYR. It was released on October 30, 2020 as the backing track for the "Ramona" single. The child's voice at the ~0:08 mark is Billy Corgan's son, Augustus Juppiter Corgan, and was his first studio appearance.[1] The music video premiered on November 13, 2020.

In the recording, Corgan used his signature Reverend guitar ran through a vintage Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz-Tone pedal – the same pedal used on The Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction".[2] The guitar was ran through a vintage Sound City amplifier head.[3]

Lyrics[edit | edit source]

samhain, samhain, through this harvest, tried night
all hallow's eve
samhain, samhain, under mask I am stars
love, lie with thee, all hallow's eve
samhain, samhain, take my hand, vex moonlight
midheaven wanes, all hallow's eve

black turns forever, turns to sleep
black turns confessor, turns to reap

hey! come call, autumnus
start the wheels of helios
strike up the lantern
singe forth darkest peace
we'll follow under

samhain, samhain, awaken spirits in thy breath
love, lie with thee
samhain, samhain, gifting apples that I'd spoilt
to hallowmass
love, lie with thee

black turns forever, turns to sleep
black turns confessor, turns to reap

hey! come call, autumnus
start the wheels of helios
strike up the lantern

black turns forever, turns to sleep
black turns confessor, turns to reap
black turns sinless, turns to seed
black turns protectress, turns to reap

hey! come call autumnus
