On this night in 2018, The Smashing Pumpkins rocked Holmdel, New Jersey with their 30th Anniversary Show! It took place during the middle of the Shiny and Oh So Bright tour. Other shows part of the 30th Anniversary series came after the tour, each offering a unique career-spanning setlist with special guests.

The August 2 date had an audience upwards of 17,500 people. The roughly two and a half hour performance included several guest artists. The band performed "Bodies" for the first time in nearly 10 years, and "Snail" was performed as a full band for the first time since the 2000 breakup. Both featured Chino Moreno of Deftones on vocals. "Cherub Rock" and "1979" featured Dave Keuning on guitar and former Pumpkins touring bassist Mark Stoermer on bass, both of The Killers. "Fly" and "Breaking the Law" featured vocals by Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, who would later star in the Smashing Pumpkins music video for "Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)". Courtney Love was also present, singing for Hole's "Celebrity Skin" and "Malibu" (both co-written by Billy Corgan). Davey Havok of AFI sang on "Transmission". Finally, Peter Hook of Joy Division and New Order (whose son is Pumpkins touring bassist Jack Bates) played bass and sang on "Age of Consent". The set closed with a cover of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart", featuring Hook, Havok and Love.
