Celebrating *20* Years of Sadness (or sometimes known simply as Live Smashing Pumpkins) released on this day in 2009! It was a joint venture between The Smashing Pumpkins and the music distributor Nugs.net Enterprises to sell audio recordings "mastered directly from the soundboard" of the concerts from the band's 2008 20th Anniversary Tour of North America. Individual performances were released as CDs, FLAC, MP3, and CD/MP3 packages. On January 15, 2009, a package for the entire tour was released. All shows from the tour from Halloween 2008 onward were released, except for the November 16 show in Uncasville, Connecticut which suffered a "recording melt-down".
Tied at 17 plays, the most performed songs were "Owata", "Heavy Metal Machine", "Tonight, Tonight", "A Song for a Son", and "Tarantula".
