Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Sweet greasy hair
Sweet grimy clothes
It was the year punk broke
In the year of our lord grunge
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no no no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no no no no
Out on the west coast
Black Sabbath, Black Flag meet the Beatles
It was the Seattle sound that made me proud
In the year of our lord grunge
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no no no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no no no no
Smashing our instruments a la The Who
Diggin' on Keith Moon
And the voice of John Lennon
Lumberjack rock star
Jaggin' in the audience's mouth
It was the year punk broke
In the year of our lord grunge
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no no no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no no no no
No no no no no
No no no no no no
