"Thirty-Three" released Nov 12, 1996! It was the final single from MCIS. It peaked at #39 in the US, #7 in New Zealand and was a #1 hit on the UK Rock chart. In Canada, it reached #2 on the Rock/Alt chart and coincidentally at #33 for 1997's year-end chart https://spcodex.wiki/Thirty-Three Corgan said "Thirty-Three" was a "a simple song in a country tuning" and was the first song written after the Rock Invasion tour. The drum machine track is exactly the same track recorded when Corgan laid down the demo version because he "couldn't remember how to recreate it." The "stringly sounds" are a vocoder with 5 slide guitars, each tuned to a single note to create the chords. As for the title, Corgan explained on VH1 Storytellers (then 33 years old) that when he was 27, a tarot card reading told him his life would completely change at age of 33. The music video was directed by Corgan and then-girlfriend Yelena Yemchuk. Its a series of stop-motion images. SP videos often avoided literal interpretation of lyrics, but 33 had images closely related to the lyrics in an intentional stylistic departure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYSbztCCTlA
