December 18, 2021 was the first night of the Madame ZuZu's Christmas Show. Billy Corgan's set was preceded by a comedian, and harpist Janelle Lake who did a cover of "Today".

The event took place the day after the death of Corgan's father, William Corgan Sr. Some believed Corgan and his family would cancel the event, but as he put it, "the show goes on, that's what my father believed in".[1]

Banter

BC: …the last few years. So on a kind of Christmas bender, I kind of threw this one out. And in preparing for this show I found the song. I thought 'That's odd, I don't really remember writing this song.' It happens sometimes. And so, this is the debut of this song as well. And no one has heard this song except my family, so I hope you enjoy it. It is called "The Magi and the Shiny Bright."
