BC: Thank you so much, thank you. Thank you everybody for coming tonight, we appreciate it. So as some of you know, we’re playing the Oceania album to start the show tonight. Thank you for such a warm reception to our new songs, we really appreciate it. I speak for the we. Thank you, heh heh. And then...well, at the end of the show, what do we--we get to some old stuff, right? But the thing is is I see a lot of young faces and I’m not--I don’t think they know the old stuff. So it may get a little boring at the end for you. But uh, heh heh. Anyway. So, havin’ a good time so far? I don’t know what that smell is but it’s a very party-like atmosphere. Party, party-like.
Jeff: Natural, natural.
BC: Natural party-like.
Jeff: Natural vibe.
BC: (stoner voice) “Hey man, if god didn’t want us to have it, he wouldn’t have made it.”
Jeff: Smell allowed.
BC: Alright.
Jeff: Smell allowed.
BC: So for those of you that are slightly or grossly inebriated, you’ll find this next song quite the journey. You might have an introspective moment, which is not a bad thing. So we hope you enjoy this one, this is the title track from Oceania, it’s called Oceania.

> Bullet with Butterfly Wings
BC: Thank you, thank you so much. ... Hey Jeff? Hey Jeff.
Jeff: Hello. Yes, yes.
BC: You know I get - I get busy with the band sometimes, I don’t really know what’s going on, has the hockey season started yet?
Jeff: No, no, they’re still talking.
BC: They’re talking?
Jeff: Something to do with an extended celebration in L.A. for winning the Stanley Cup.
BC: Is that where you’re from, Los Angeles, the home of the Stanley Cup...
Jeff: Yes I am.
BC: ...the Kings?
Jeff: Woo!
BC: Now, let me just--let’s get some facts straight. The Kings have won how many championships?
Jeff: One, one...
BC: Just one?
Jeff: One, one. First one.
BC: And how many have the Maple Leafs won? How many?
Jeff: A couple, a couple.
BC: Nine? Nine. Nine. Haha. 13? Oh, they won 13 championships, wow.
Jeff: No, but in all seriousness, it’s fuckin’ really cool to be here, this blows my mind, I love it, it’s awesome, thank you.
BC: I told--I told Jeff before the show back in the day I got to play the old Maple Leaf Gardens, I mean what a incredible venue. Pretty amazing, pretty amazing. Yeah. So it’s nice to be here with you tonight in your home of hockey, we hope the season starts soon. The great thing about this band is if you get bummed out like, “Oh man, I’m so bummed the hockey season [sic],” then you can listen to us, we’re perfect. Apop, apoc, oof, apocalyptic music. Who knew I could write music for the apocalypse? Uh, heh, not my family. Uh...now...did you know...besides a love of hockey - you want me to shut up? (Jeff laughs) If you’d like me to shut up, I can give you your money back.
Nicole: They like it.
BC: Yeah, you do.
Nicole: Wah wah wah.
BC: We’re just havin’ a little chat here, we’re just havin’ some fun, it’s not a big deal.
Nicole: We’re having a fun chat.
BC: You can take your phone out of your ass and check it in a minute, just hold on a second. Now Nicole, Nicole....
Nicole: Nic-cool. Right, Laz?
BC: Did you know that besides their love of nature...
Nicole: I like nature too.
BC: ...and their love of hockey, they love wrestling up here?
Nicole: Oh, I was not aware. Are they aware of Resistance Pro?
BC: I don’t--I don’t know if you know, I started a wrestling organization out of Chicago: Resistance Pro Wrestling.
Nicole: No, no.
BC: Yes, it’s true. Thank you very much. And hopefully someday we can come up here and - and run up here with you great fans in Toronto. Maybe I can coach my friend Edge to come up too. Right? Yeah. I’ll text him after the show.
Nicole: I think that the band should just wrestle.
BC: The band should wrestle?
Nicole: Yeah.
(sound effect saying “yeah right”)
BC: Heh. Okay, we could do a mixed tag, me and you versus Jeff and Mike.
Jeff: Yeah!
(sound effect saying “yeah right”)
BC: We’ll be the baby faces, which means we’re the good guys and then, they’re the bad guys. You both wear the Kings jerseys, right? To the jersey--to the ring. Alright, well, I’m glad this is going really well.
Nicole: I think it’s great. I think you guys are great.
BC: Hey, I can’t wait to get off the stage and go back and watch the World Series. Your--your Blue Jays are in the World Series, right?
Jeff: [unintelligible], they don’t give a fuck.
BC: Wait, let me get this straight, you got no hockey, you got no baseball, what d’you got? Sex, okay, I get it, sex, lots of sex. It’s cold, you smoke a lot of weed, you get under the covers, it’s cold, you fuck, I get it. Good strategy. Anyway, before we wrap this up here...heh heh...heh heh heh heh...I just wanted to say we appreciate you being here with us tonight, we honestly do. A few, a few have predicted that this band could not continue under this guise and yet, here you are proving those people wrong. It’s pretty cool, pretty cool. Give it up.
Nicole: Give it up! [unintelligible]
BC: And I’d be remiss in not mentioning, on the drums, Mr. Michael Byrne. That’s the beautiful thing about rock and roll, right? When I met Mike, he was working at McDonald’s. True story. And then he joined the Smashing Pumpkins. And then when we started this tour, he was single and now he’s not single. (sound effect of Jeff saying “Boi-yoing-yoing”) Isn’t rock and roll great, Mike? (Mike plays a brief drum roll and Nicole and Jeff laugh) Speaking of propagation, I’d like to dedicate this song to my father, Bill Corgan Senior. Who impregnated my mother. God rest her soul. So this song goes out to all the mommies and daddies out there.
