"Gossamer" is a song by The Smashing Pumpkins that was an outtake of Zeitgeist. No studio recording has been made available, but it was performed regularly during the summer leg of the Zeitgeist tour, and a common feature of the band's live sets up to 2010. Its debut at the first Paris show in 2007 indicates that it was written during the Zeitgeist sessions, but this is not confirmed. The song duration typically ranges from 15 to 35 minutes. It was recorded live at the Fillmore and was released on the DVD If All Goes Wrong.[1] The song returned to live rotation for the band, for the first time with James Iha notably, in 2024. This rendition of the song included a short part of Billy Corgan's solo song "The Spaniards" near the ending.

Lyrics[edit | edit source]
You will fly away again
You will
Straight into the heart of the sun
Straight into the heart of everyone
You will break my heart against
My will
I will be dead out of a gun
I will be dead out of everyone
Fly, fly away when you say you won't
You follow when you swear you just don't
I can't rule you no more
We'll buy you another sun
We'll buy you another sun to love
We'll buy you another sun
We'll buy you another sun
Go find you another sun to gun down
Go find you
Another sun
You don't want me anymore
You don't love me anymore
No more
You will fly away again you will
You will fly away again you will
Bleed into the heart of the sun
You will break my heart against my will
You will break my heart against my will
Love bleeding out of your gun
