The entire show is performed acoustic and Billy notes during the show that the band was only allowed to play this specific venue if they promised they wouldn't play electric. Ultimately, when the band returned in 2007, they were allowed to play electric.

BC: So this is uh, the first time I've ever played piano in public in my life. Heh heh. [unintelligible sentence.] See, what's funny before is like, I never played piano, you know, so, and then when I came out, Mike was back there and I couldn't see the piano and then, you can see I'm a professional, so.... This is a song that I wrote at home on the piano, so I thought I'd play it for you.

BC: Heh heh. We're very uh, we're very honored to be able to play at the Grand Old Opry tonight. We had to uh, we had to promise the Grand Old Opry we wouldn't play electric, heh heh, guitar so they'd let us play here, but...of course we didn't promise that we wouldn't play loud but we promised we wouldn't play electric. But it's a great honor to um, to um, be part of a long tradition of great country music, although we're not playing any country music tonight. Country music is along with blues music was the foundation of rock and roll and...there are many great country pioneers who made it possible for us to act like fools today. I'm gonna put my foot over here on this piece from the original Opry, get to soak up some of the vibes...to help me. Osmosis. Everybody okay then, you alright? You guys don't look the same as you do normally on that Nashville Network with the little....

Basically, they are the reason the whole thing is, as y’all know, that the mayor really appreciates your generosity for the W.O. Smith School and today in Nashville is Smashing Pumpkins Day [unintelligible].

Guy from W.O. Smith School: Thank you. My name is Joe [unintelligible] W.O. Smith Music School. As most of you know, the money from tonight’s ticket purchases came to the W.O. Smith School. We are absolutely thrilled and excited to thank Smashing Pumpkins for doing such a wonderful gift for us, we also have a little something for you that is very special for us. This is called a Smitty award and it’s a sculpture of the gentleman who was the founder of our school, W.O. Smith, who was a bass player. And [unintelligible] dedicated to the Smashing Pumpkins, we appreciate your humble contribution to the W.O. Smith Nashville Community Music School [unintelligible].
