BC: [cuts in] On the drums, Mr. Michael Byrne. On the bass guitar, the lovely Nicole Fiorentino. Now as some of you may know, we recently passed the landmark 25 years since the first Smashing Pumpkins show. And as I was being asphyxiated on the Eurostar train today...yes, I was thinking about how many times I've come here to play.
Nicole: How many is it?
BC: London Astoria, Brixton Academy...
Jeff: Shepherds Bush.
BC: ...Shepherds Bush...the Underground.
Jeff: [unintelligible]
BC: And I just wanted to say...excuse me? (crowd shouting) What? Heh, I'm not gonna name every place I've played in London, okay? Usually when I talk too much I get in trouble. It’s usually not a good thing for the show if I talk. So I don't talk anymore, I just play music now. So all those fucking tarts in your media can shove it up their fucking ass. (drinks)
Nicole: How are you enjoying that cold water?
BC: That’s right.
Nicole: [1-2 unintelligible words].
BC: Heh heh. No, but I was thinking, Jeffrey Brooks...heh heh, I was thinking how much I appreciate your culture because the bands that inspired me most came from here: Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Wishbone Ash. No, okay, not Wishbone Ash but, heh heh, Pink Floyd.
Jeff: [unintelligible].
BC: So, if it wasn't for those great artists, I wouldn't be here and we wouldn't be here, so I appreciate London so much and I don't always show it. You know, when we first came over here, Billy, James, D'arcy and Jimmy...they didn't quite understand...the rock. And quite honestly, they still don't understand the fucking rock, okay? If I hear one more song “Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa,” I'm gonna fuckin’ shoot myself. What the fuck happened? Whoa whoa nation. Anyway, I just wanna say how much I appreciate you, I don't always say it and I wanted to say it tonight, so thank you for being here. So before we get to back to those dusty classics [sic], like to play one more song from the Oceania album. (crowd cheers) Thank you. It is the title track entitled Oceania.
