Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Intro
Tonight, Tonight
> By Starlight
BC: Good evening. We are the Smashing Pumpkins, very nice to be here for you tonight. As always, we have two rules when we play an open floor show. Rule number one is that you behave. Rule number two is you will not, I guarantee, you will not throw stuff at the band. If you do, the band will not play the show, so it’s that simple, do not throw things at the band or the band will stop playing. If you are the person responsible for throwing something that stops the band from playing, you’re going to have a lot of people upset with you. Now, are you ready to R-A-W-K?
Zero
> Where Boys Fear to Tread
Fuck You
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans / Rocket
Iha: Thank you very much. Psychedelic. Did that [unintelligible word] you out?
BC: We’re very psychedelic. How is everybody doin’? You’re doin’ okay?
Iha: You all are alright? That’s our goal.
BC: Hey, James--hey, put the lights up for a second, Sammy. Now check this out--wait, okay, everybody look over there, see that one section of people sitting down? Those are all the people who got free tickets, free tickets, can you tell...by their enthusiasm? Free tickets.

Iha: San Diego Rock City!
BC: We’ve always had really good concerts here, we thank you very much for your support for so long. This is a song I wrote about my dog and I dedicate this song to you. It may seem like a strange dedication but it will make sense to you someday.

[encore break]
Iha: San Diego Rock City, come on! You having an okay time? Feelin’--feelin’ kinda California? Well, yes. We would like to uh, play a semi-oldie song, going all the way back before uh, before grunge and uh, this is one of our few movie adventures.
Drown

BC: Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, I just looked over at my friend and partner of 10 years, Mr. James Iha. James, you look really fuckin’ tired, man, heh.
Iha: Oh man, oh man, it’s just the California vibe [2 unintelligible words].
BC: No, I, heh heh, tell everyone the truth, you are tired.
Iha: No, man, just feelin’ California. Feelin’ like you do, feelin’ good!
BC: But James....
Iha: And now, I’m ready to rock some more.
BC: James...if you don’t want the show to continue, just say so and we’ll stop now.
Iha: (British accent) Well, I could be in a limousine or I could be on a jet plane or should I play some more? What shall I do, audience? Shall I rock? Yes? Should I rock?!
Siva
[encore break]
Landslide (Billy/Iha acoustic)
BC: Thank you. Thank you very much.
Iha: I would like to uh, introduce our special guitarist. You may be wondering.... He is from the oh so great city of Milwaukee, he’s flown ottawa--all the way out here for the show. Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for Jimmy Frog! Hey. Alright, Jimmy Frog. And now, his brother, on the keyboards, ladies and gentlemen, Dennis Frog! And now, another introduction, the man behind the...drums, yeah, ladies and gentlemen, Matt “Cosmo” Walker! Matt is the newest member and he wishes to take psychology in college.
BC: Matt did play with that alternative rock band Filter.
Iha: Yes. Thank you all--
BC: Best known for their hit song Hey Man Nice Shot. And currently known for their work in The Crow 2 with another hit called Jurassitol.
Iha: Wow, that’s good alternative rock information to know. Let’s dance...now.
1979 (with Jimmy Flemion)
BC: Thank you all very much for a great concert, we appreciate it very much.
Iha: Let’s uh, have a nice warm round of applause for Jimmy Frog, our beloved green angel. You California people seem keen on the green angel.
BC: We’d now like to, one more time, enter the beloved cyber metal territory for a song known as...
Iha: (whispered) X.Y.U.
X.Y.U.
[encore break]
Iha: Merci. Thanks again everybody for sticking around. Still feel like rockin’ a little bit more? Rockin’ [2 unintelligible words]?
