The Parable released November 17, 2017! It is the second studio album by Jimmy Chamberlin Complex (@jimmychamberlincomplex). It was their first album since the 2005 debut, Life Begins Again, this time joined by Randy Ingram (keyboards) and Chris Speed (clarinet, saxophone). The album was produced by Chamberlin's longtime collaborator, Billy Mohler.

DownBeat magazine praised the album, proclaiming "Chamberlin combines the energy and production values of a rock album with the spontaneity of an improvised jazz session."

Chamberlin said in a press release: "Jazz really allows you to paint in real time. The medium of jazz, to me, is the ultimate vehicle of self-expression for a musician. It allows you to create in the moment. Jazz is the music where it can only take five minutes to create five minutes of music. That's a much more honest place for me to live as a musician. You're painting first drafts and being OK with them."
