"Lyric" released in Europe on June 2, 2003! It was the second and final single from Zwan's album Mary Star of the Sea. It was only formally released in Europe, though a promotional CD was released to radio stations in the US.
The compact disc and 7" vinyl singles included a live Bob Dylan cover, "Nobody 'Cept You" as performed by David Pajo. The CD also included a live version of the Jazz standard "Autumn Leaves" as performed by Billy Corgan. Both were sourced from the October 14, 2002 show at The Hideout in Chicago.
The song has been performed 88 times in total – four times by Billy Corgan solo, twice at Jimmy Chamberlin drum clinics, and the rest at Zwan shows in 2002 and 2003. The last known performance was by Corgan on the Ogilala tour in Los Angeles on November 12, 2017.
