On this night in 2006, Billy Corgan joined Courtney Love and Linda Perry at a benefit for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. The event took place LA's Fonda Theatre, and served as a break from the early recording sessions of Love's fourth album, Nobody's Daughter. The event raised over $150,000 for the Center.

Corgan performed on three songs on guitar. The songs "Sunset Marquis" and "Pacific Coast Highway" – both co-written by Corgan – were debuted at this show.

Courtney Love told NME: "Billy and me have never been onstage before and it was intense. His guitar parts are haunting and beautiful. It was me, him, Linda and 2000 lesbians and the songs are dramatically different from the demos. It was fucking historic."

Corgan and Love had in fact been onstage before, when Love provided guest vocals on two songs at the February 3, 1996 Smashing Pumpkins show in Los Angeles. According to SPCodex records, after the 2006 benefit show, the pair would not appear together onstage again until The Smashing Pumpkins' 30th Anniversary Show in New Jersey on August 2, 2018.
