Corgan may be one of the most prolific songwriters of his generation. According to SPCodex records (excluding unreleased upcoming material), approximately 760 songs are known to have been (co-)written by Corgan over the course of ~35 years, written for no less than 31 different artists across 70 albums, and this is surely far from the true count of his compositions. To date he's released three full-length solo albums to much fanfare – TheFutureEmbrace, Ogilala and Cotillions – along with the experimental albums AEGEA and Siddhartha.
Corgan attributes his primary influences to the likes of Black Sabbath, The Cure, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Cheap Trick, Robin Trower among many others. He wrote six articles for Guitar World in 1995, and his solos for "Cherub Rock" and "Geek U.S.A." were included on their list of the top all-time guitar solos. AllMusic said "Starla" "proves that Corgan was one of the finest rock guitarists of the 90s". His solo for "Soma" was No. 24 on Rolling Stone's list of the top guitar solos. He has had signature endorsements from music gear companies such as Fender, Reverend, and more recently Carstens Amplification.
Aside from music, Corgan has released a poetry book called Blinking with Fists (2004) which debuted on the New York Times Best Seller list. He is an avid wrestling fan, having founded Resistance Pro Wrestling in 2011, later joining and heading Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2015, before purchasing the NWA in 2017. He runs the Madame ZuZu's tea shop with his partner, Chloe Mendel, and is a prominent force supporting PAWS Chicago – one of the nation's largest no-kill animal shelters.
"Everyday is the best day if you let it be. You can have mastery over a lot of things but if you don't have your mind right, none of these things matter."
