"Never Say Never" is a 1982 single and one of the best-known songs by new wave band Romeo Void. The Smashing Pumpkins have occasionally teased the song during live performances of "X.Y.U." The "X.Y.U. Medley" from the Halloween 1998 show, which included one such tease of "Never Say Never", was included on the 2014 reissue of Adore.
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Lyrics vary by performance. Below is adapted from the March 2, 2000 show.
…
i might like you better if we slept together
i might like you better if we slept together
i might like you better if we slept together
but there's something in your eyes that says "maybe"
that's never, never ever say never
…
i might like you better if you hadn't fucked so many guys
i might like you better if you didn't have wooden thighs
…
never ever ever say never
