WKQX (101.1 FM) – historically known as Q101 and today as 101 WKQX – is a commercial alternative rock radio station radio station licensed to Chicago, Illinois. Q101 hosted The Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Corgan in their studio many times over the years, and are also known as distributing digital copies of one of the original 25 vinyl copies of Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music.

The original Q101 as it was known ended when it was purchased by Merlin Media. The final Q101 on-air staffed show was on July 15, 2011 and ended with playing the studio "Tonight, Tonight" recording, along with The Cure's "Friday I'm in Love".[1]
