October 25, 2008 was the party for the release of Guitar Hero World Tour. As Billy Corgan recalled on the Thirty-Three podcast, the night was less of a show but more of a corporate event. When Guitar Hero producers filmed Corgan's body motions for the game, they promised him they would not use the footage of him wearing "the stupid suit with the little white balls". Yet such a video was released, and prior to the October 25 event. Possibly in retaliation, the band refrained from playing any major hits during the release party show.[1]
