Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Intro
Where Boys Fear to Tread
> Zero
BC: Thank you.
Fuck You
BC: Hello!
D’arcy: (mic not working properly) Can you hear me?
BC: Hello?!
D’arcy: This place looks much bigger with people in it.
BC: We are the Smashing Pumpkins, we're very happy to be back in Australia.
Today
BC: Thank you, thank you, thank you thank you.
To Forgive
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
BC: Helloo again. Thank you so much for coming. We'd like to play another 15 songs from our new album. They're all in the form of a medley. We like to call this the Star Wars Iha trilogy.
Iha: Yes, yes! And please, no shoe throwing.
Thru the Eyes of Ruby
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
Iha: Thank you. That was an epic jam, this is a very fast song. So fast...
BC: No, this is a slow song.
Iha: This is a slow slong.
BC: This is what we call Iha speed.
Iha: This is called Iha Speed, we hope you like it.
Bodies
BC: Thank you. We don't play that song very much so I forgot a bunch of the words, I'm sorry. And if I forget some of the words to this one, please forgive me. (hits first chord for next song a few times but his guitar sounds like shit) What a surprise that we have technical difficulties.
Iha: We will play.
BC: Well...I'll just have you play the song.
Iha: What’s wrong with the guitar?
BC: Fuck if I know. It's the old wet lead problem.
Disarm (Billy doesn’t play guitar)
Iha: Alright.
BC: You kids are out of sight, man. Way out of sight.
Iha: Now that we've been sad for a while, now it's time to really rock.
Geek U.S.A.
> Cherub Rock
[encore break]
Iha: Ladies and gentlemen, on the drums, Timmy Doyle! The reason you cannot see his face....
D’arcy: Boy, you guys’ll cheer for anything, won't you?
Iha: No no no, the reason you cannot see this man's face is because he has been horribly scarred. This man is Iron Man!
BC: Why don't you introduce the acoustic guitarist?
Iha: And on the fuckin’ acoustic guitar, Jimmy Chamberlin...from Joliet, Illinois.
BC: And on keyboards...
Iha: On keyboards!
BC: ...Jonathan Livingston...
Iha: ...Melvoin!
BC: ...Seagull.
Iha: Jonathan “Regal Touch” Melvoin. On the motherfuckin’ bass guitar, D'arcy Wretzky-Brown.
BC: Bass solo!
Iha: Come on!
BC: Play a bass--bass solo.
Iha: Bass solo.
D’arcy: It's called The Tuning Song.
BC: Well, let everyone hear you tune.
Iha: Alright.
BC: We've had to listen to it for years, let everyone else in on the game.
Iha: On the vocals, lead singer, Billy Corgan! And my name is John Major.
BC: Your oppressor. Are we ready yet, are we ready? Okay, we're gonna start the song now. Hit it, Johnny.
1979 (with Kerry Brown on drums, Jimmy plays guitar)
BC: I hate that guitar, I don't know why I play it.
Iha: (bad Australian accent) Alright, let's get down to the nitty-gritty here. Let's get on to the full rock sound. What that is, I don't know.
BC: (German accent?) Like to thank ze opening act, Def FX...(normal voice) for a spirited techno-induced set of trance-inducing music. Those kids take way too many drugs. I hope they're not symbolic of all of Australia. Alright, time for some kick-ass death cyber fuckin’ metal.
X.Y.U.
[encore break]
Iha: Yes? What do you...? What? We might, we might do it.
BC: Thank you very much. We're trying to limit the number of stupid things that we normally would say on stage, so uh, all we can say over and over is thank you, thank you for coming, we appreciate it very much.
Iha: And you've been rocking, you people have been rocking.
BC: We'd like to play an oldie, this goes back to about 1993.
Mayonaise
BC: God bless you, thank you.
[encore break]
Iha: Thank you again, thanks. You guys were really good. You’ve been super cool. And now....(mic pops) Whoa. (mic not working right) Now.... And now for tonight tonight’s big rock show, (mic works again) we will blow out even more monitors.
BC: Whoa. Um, Lawrence, you can put the video back on but just don't, you know, you know. Uh, heh heh. Yep, we just wanna say hi to everyone personally. You guys totally rule, thank you.
D’arcy: And for those of you in the back rows, we hope you've enjoyed our flight and enjoyed the audio/video portion of our program.
BC: Heh heh! We will be landing soon.
Iha: [unintelligible because his mic’s not working again]
BC: We'd like to do a couple more songs, uh.... They uh, just be warned, each song lasts approximately thirty minutes each, um...and this one begins with our friend Jimmy from Joliet.
Tonight, Tonight
> Silverfuck / Space Jam / Drown
> Farewell and Goodnight
(below is over piano outro)
BC: Goodnight, god bless you.
Jimmy: Thank you.
D’arcy: Thank you.
BC: Be careful goin’ home.
Iha: [unintelligible word or two], goodnight, thanks everybody.
