Ein Abend In Wien was a two-day music festival held in 1991 at De Doelen in Rotterdam.
It is seen as the successor of Pandora's Music Box Festival (1983-1985) and the predecessor of Lowlands' new style. Willem Venema was one of the organizers.
The festival is considered innovative for the programming of alternative music and literature, decoration and so-called phenomena: small theatrical interruptions. Performances included Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Miranda Sex Garden, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins (in their first European performance), Carter USM and literary readings by Nick Cave, among others.
As part of the promotional campaign, a cheap promotional CD was released.
