Bob English was a long time friend of Billy Corgan's who served as his guitar tech for the first few years of The Smashing Pumpkins' existence and was credited, at least by James Iha and D'arcy Wretzky, as coming up with the band's name.[1] Not much is known about English, though he was also Corgan's roommate during (at a minimum) the writing of Siamese Dream. English and Corgan had a falling out somewhere near the end of the Rock Invasion tour and Corgan has generally spoken disparagingly of him since then.
