BC: [tape cuts in] here...
Iha: Cool.
BC: ...and so it’s a rare night out for everyone.
Iha: Seems cold.
BC: But if you notice, everything here is very beautiful, everything’s new.
Iha: Yes, yes, the desert.
BC: And that’s from all that Mesa Boogie money.
Iha: Mesa, yes, the Boogies, hahahahaha.
BC: Sorry, that’s a guitar nerd joke. Everyone havin’ a good time? Well, we’ll carry on.
Travels
Iha: [tape cuts in] There’s different types of snakes. It’s dangerous out here! Alright, a quick introduction of the band. All the way from Manchester, England, on the bass guitar, Mr. Jack Bates. This tour is almost over, Jack wanted to say a few words...to the audience.
BC: Did you know....? Did you know that Jack’s dad played here in ‘89?
Iha: My god. Who was that with?
BC: Mr. Mister.
Iha: Hahahaha, that was a deep cut.
BC: His dad played with Mr. Mister.
Iha: His dad--which we don’t talk about ‘cause we’re trying to be polite--is the goddamn bassist in Joy Division and New Order: Peter Hook. That’s a great resume. He’s a helluva guy. Heh heh. Alright, from Los Angeles, California, on the guitar, shredding all the way, Mr. Jeffff Schroeder! Jeff’s favorite band is from Mesa, they’re called Kiss. And now, we’re gonna hear Lick It Up by Kiss. (Jeff gestures “no”) Alright...ahhhhh, I guess we won’t, alright. From Illinois, the Midwest, the heart of the world, on the drums, Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin!
Hot for Teacher (tease - Jeff)
Iha: Why do you always play that?, hahaha. I like it, it’s uh, it’s playful, it’s fun, we’re here in Mesa, we’re havin’ a helluva time [2 unintelligible words]--
BC: I know this isn’t the time to--hahahahaha.
Iha: I’m just gonna keep talking about random shit now.
BC: I know this isn’t the time to bring it up, but Ji--heh heh heh--Jimmy’s dad played here too.
Iha: Oh, Jesus, I didn’t know about that.
BC: Jimmy’s dad...
Iha: Hey.
BC: ...you don’t know this, I know this isn’t the time to bring this up, but Jimmy’s dad is Alex Van Halen.
Iha: [2-4 unintelligible words], I didn’t know that. Panama!
Hot for Teacher (tease - Jeff)
BC: That’s why he plays Hot for Teacher!
Iha: We’re havin’ a great time in Mesa. Alright! On vocals, hot guitar, Mr. William Patrick Corgan!

Silvery Sometimes
(BC as song is ending: Alright! It’s one of those teen [tape cuts].)
BC: [tape cuts in] James, Jeff, Jack, Jimmy.
Iha: (high pitched) Oh yeah.
BC: (British accent) [2 unintelligible words] (normal voice) to our majesty, we have reached the end of this concert experience.
Iha: My god.
BC: We know you’ve gotta get to the nightlife of Mesa.
Iha: Yes, it’s happenin’ out here, you got geckos and -
BC: Gotta put on your backwards Diamondbacks hat and...
Iha: Fuck yeah.
BC: ...go out with your bros.
Iha: Fuck yeah.
BC: Hey, you guys have been a great audience, thank you so much, we appreciate it.
Iha: Thank you, thank you.
BC: Although it’s not a continuous journey, this band started over 30 years ago.
Iha: I’m feelin’ old as hell.
BC: James, time has been very kind to you. Time has been very kind, you look like the James Iha I met oh so many years ago.
Iha: I’ve been taking those mega vitamins. Thank you though, thank you.
BC: Whatever you’re (laughing) taking, can you give it to us? Heh.
Iha: I got a bottle of vitamins, multivitamins, it’s pretty good.
BC: Is it shaped like a bear or...?
Iha: It’s shaped like a rhombus or a....
BC: It’s like a rattlesnake, sssss.
Iha: Oh, that’s right, we’re in Mesa! Home of the rattlesnakes. It can’t be, no, it’s not. I just -
BC: Anyway, please join us in singing along with this last song if you know the words.
Iha: Everyone knows the words. Alright, they do.
BC: Do you know the words?
Iha: Uh, I know some of ‘em...pretty well. I I’m concentrate on the....
BC: (incredulously) You’ve probably played this song about 700 times!
Iha: Yes. “I feel”...and then I gotta go to the guitar part.
BC: It’s the--heh heh heh heh! It’s not actually “I fear”, but thank you.
Iha: (laughing) No no, I didn’t say “I fear”, “I feel.”
BC: Those vitamins ain’t workin’, buddy.
Iha: Heh heh heh.
BC: Alright, here we go, you ready?!
