July 7, 2015 was the first show of the The End Times tour, double-billed with Marilyn Manson. The show marked Jimmy Chamberlin's first performance with The Smashing Pumpkins since December 8, 2008. It was also the first show with touring bassist Jack Bates (of Peter Hook and The Light).
The End Times tour was in support of The Smashing Pumpkins' tenth studio album, Monuments to an Elegy, and Manson's ninth album, The Pale Emperor. American hip hop recording artist Cage served as the opening act. The tour spanned 24 dates across the US and Canada. The tour's name was conceived as an amalgamation of the titles of the songs "The End Is the Beginning Is End" by SP and "Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes" by Manson.
The July 7, 2015 show took place in Concord, California (near San Francisco) to a crowd of upwards of 12,500. The setlist saw the first full band performance of "The Crying Tree of Mercury" in 15 years. As with much of The End Times tour and surrounding tours, the show had a VIP pre-set and Q&A, which included the only known performance of "Here's to the Atom Bomb". "Geek U.S.A." was on the setlist as the final song but was not played due to the venue's curfew.
