(studio version of Drum + Fife plays under the entire interview segment)
Amy Robach: It is an incredible Friday because we have the Smashing Pumpkins here. They have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and we’re so excited to have Billy and Jeff here with us to perform a single off their latest album, Monuments to an Elegy, and this is a particularly impassioned album that you’ve created here...
BC: Thank you.
Robach: ...and uh, you’ve said this is the best reaction you’ve had to an album in 20 years.
BC: Yeah, but if only it sold, you see. (Robach and Jeff laugh)
Robach: Reaction can lead to sales.
BC: We’re hoping, um, yeah, we’re waiting on that one.
Robach: And this is a testimonial to soldiers who are suffering, who have come back, have dealt with issues like PTSD and it’s a personal issue for you both.
BC: Yeah, we’re friends, close friends with a two-time touring veteran in Iraq and talking to him about some of his issues actually inspired this song that we’re about to play. And then through the video that we’ve made, which also sort of - it allegorically deals with it - now we’re gonna be working, hopefully, with the Easter Seals Dixon Center to try to bring even more awareness and support to our great soldiers.
Robach: That is fantastic and I also understand you’re going on tour with Marilyn Manson?
BC: Yes, and actually, most people don’t know: his father is a vet too. So I know that’s an issue close to his heart, so we’re hoping to get him involved in this too.
Robach: Well, I can’t wait to hear it, so much so, let’s get right to it, okay?
BC: Okay, awesome, thank you.
Robach: Performing the latest single off their album Monuments to an Elegy, here are Smashing Pumpkins with Drum and Fife.

(Stephanopoulos, Robach and Sara Haines are standing with the band; studio version of Drum + Fife again plays under all talking)
Stephanopoulos: Big thanks to Smashing Pumpkins, that was beautiful, I know it’s gonna sell. Good luck with that, have a great weekend everybody, let’s take one look more at that winning team, there they are (MLB mascot footage from earlier in the show plays over the rest of the show), the East Coast team. That epic mascot performance, Mr. Met holding the stage right there. There’s the West Coast team, let’s say goodbye to all of them, have a great weekend everybody, have a fantastic Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving? (everybody laughs) Easter! Bye, you guys.
BC: I mean, theater of the mind.
(everybody laughs)
