"Perfect" was the second and final commercial single from The Smashing Pumpkins' fourth album, Adore. Musiccritic.com called it "an irresistible slice of candy-coated pop". The music video continued the story of the characters from the "1979" video. The band was able to find and use four out of five original actors. The fifth was in jail. At the end of the video, a tape falls off a car and is crushed, mirroring the fate of the original "1979" video tape. "Perfect" peaked at #3 on the US Alternative Songs chart and at #2 on Canadian Rock chart.
