August 23, 1996 is the first Smashing Pumpkins performance following the death of Jonathan Melvoin and Jimmy Chamberlin's firing. The touring band featured two new additions that would remain for the rest of the tour: Matt Walker of Filter on drums and Dennis Flemion of The Frogs on keyboards. Jimmy Flemion (also of The Frogs) guested at nearly every show as well.
