The May 2019 Muscle Shoals Sound Studio sessions were for the Christmas album project, recorded on an analogue 8-track Scully machine [1].
Sessions were set aside on May 11, 2019 as the band was preparing for the Europe 2019 tour [2]. By then, 12 songs were worked for the album with finished drums on 8 songs, of which 4 were original compositions [3].
It's unknown if further work was done later and the sessions were eventually abandoned as Corgan confirmed in January 2020, with plans to start over in the future [4].
