Banter
Mary Star of the Sea
(BC after lyrics, before coda: Good evening, we are Zwan...and we have come to rock you.)
Declarations of Faith
El Sol
BC: Thank you very much, thank you. I’m glad the summer has finally come. I’m glad the summer has finally come.)
Don’t Let Me Down
BC: That’s right.
Sweeney: And we would like to thank the, uh, student council for not letting...us down...by putting on this show. Uh, thanks a lot, you guys.
Honestly
BC: Thank you, heh.
Yeah!
BC: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. We’d just like to say thank you Queens of the Stone Age. Great band.
Settle Down
Jesus, I
> God’s Gonna Set This World on Fire
BC: Yeah. ... Thank you very much, yes, we love you too, thank you. Uh, who here goes to Northwestern? Many of you may not know this but our own Matt Sweeney was a Northwestern student.
Sweeney: I dropped the fuck out though.
BC: You wanna say that again? I don’t think they heard you.
Sweeney: I said I dropped the fuck out. Oh no, it’s funny, I was in Allison Hall, uh.... (crowd screams) Easy, it’s not that great. But I was driving by today and I called up my roommate from there and he told me that he just had a baby and that guy’s dad (drops to a whisper) owns this fucking school so you better be nice...to me.
BC: I don’t know what that means. We’d like to introduce the Zwan to you. On the geetar, Mr. David Pajo (pronounced Pa-joe). I already introduced Matt so (quickly) Matt Sweeney. Northwestern’s own Matt Sweeney! What was your GPA?
Sweeney: I got into the writing program. I don’t know, it dropped radically in my sophomore year and I went to counseling about it...that shit, so....
BC: I didn’t go to college, I don’t give a fuck. On the violin and the bass, the lovely Ms. Paz. And on the drums, Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin.
Heartsong
Of a Broken Heart
Endless Summer
(BC over ending: Thank you very much.)
[encore break]
A New Poetry
BC: Thank you very much.
[encore break]
Lyric
> Spilled Milk
BC: God bless you, thank you very much.
