William Corgan Sr. (1947 - December 18, 2021) was a blues guitarist and father to Billy Corgan. In 1988, his home on Eddy Street is where the first Smashing Pumpkins recording sessions took place. He played the guitar solo in "The Last Song" from the "Thirty-Three" single in 1996, and has performed alongside Corgan at several shows since 1999. He is also credited as an illustrator for the 2011 reissue of Siamese Dream.[1]

On December 17, 2021, Corgan Sr. suffered a heart attack while in his home. Paramedics arrived to find him dead, before miraculously reviving him for a short time. En route via helicopter to a medical facility, he passed away. He was 74 years old.
