Chicago Kid
(Redirected from The Chicago Kid)
Chicago Kid (also known as Chicago Songs, or sometimes stylized as ChicagoKid) is an abandoned album by Billy Corgan. It gets its name because the songs were all written with Chicago (Corgan's hometown) in mind. Studio sessions with Bjorn Thorsrud took place in the summer of 2003 and lasted for six to eight weeks. Corgan was not happy with the results, so in a final effort he performed for a series of shows in what was called the Church Sessions in anticipation of releasing a DVD. The track listing here is speculative, based on the setlists from the Church Sessions and Corgan's April 2004 blog entries.[1] In April 2019, Corgan expressed interest in releasing the album someday.[2]
