Summary

Description Stockwell Road The Brixton Academy, officially called O2 Academy, Brixton, is one of London's leading music venues, nightclubs and theatres. The venue started life as a cinema and theatre called the Astoria. Arch. Thomas Somerford and E A Stone 1929. In 1981, The Astoria, remodelled by Sean Treacy, was re-opened as a rock venue and is currently hosting a range of live acts and club nights.
