"Sarabande"
Instrumental song by George Frideric Handel
Songwriter(s)George Frideric Handel

"Sarabande" is the fourth movement of George Frideric Handel's larger "Keyboard suite in D minor" that was played at Smashing Pumpkins live performances in 2019 as both the intro and outro music. Only the first minute and a half was used.

The sarabande is traditionally the music written for a dance in triple metre. Handel's version was composed for solo harpsichord at some point between 1703 and 1706 and first published in 1733. It has been used in numerous pieces of modern pop culture, perhaps most notably in Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 film Barry Lyndon and an early 2000s commercial for Levi’s.
