The May 2, 1998 show saw The Smashing Pumpkins as the opening band. The Pumpkins sat in for a few songs during Cheap Trick's set, two of which made the album. "Mandocello" features Billy Corgan on guitar (a mandocello, more specifically), while "If You Want My Love" features backup vocals by D'arcy Wretzky. The other songs that didn't make the album include "You're All Talk" and "Just Got Back".
Corgan also authored the liner notes for the album (see 2nd/3rd photo), where he writes: "It is in moments like those that you believe in rock'n'roll."
