Kissin Time by Marianne Faithfull featuring Billy Corgan and Matt Walker released on this day* in 2002! It is Faithfull's sixteenth album. Corgan wrote the song "Wherever I Go", and co-wrote and co-sang "I'm on Fire" with Faithfull, which also featured former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Matt Walker. Corgan contributed guitar, bass, piano/keyboards, programming and production to both tracks as well as the final track, "Something Good" – a cover of the 1964 single made famous by Herman's Hermits. The album also credits Smashing Pumpkins personnel Bjorn Thorsrud (mixing, recording) and Howard Willing (pre-production).
AllMusic gave the album 4 out of 5 stars, calling it "another raise of the bar" for Faithfull, noting that it was Billy Corgan "who gets the highest marks here for capturing Faithfull's dominant strengths … the pace of her delivery, and the dynamic her lyrics demand."
Other artists who contributed to the album include Beck, Blur, Pulp, Jarvis Cocker and Dave Stewart.
- Confirmed release date for European compact disc. Some sources date the initial release (of unclear origin) to February 19, 2002
