For a long time, the song had only the opening figure and a few other parts. It was meant to be a long song, and without the three-part sectioning that you hear in the recording. The final arrangement came together the same day it was recorded. Corgan has also said the song gives nods to [[w:Yes (band)|Yes]] and [[w:Vangelis|Vangelis]].<ref name="musicradar" />
