Atum Intro
Empires
(BC after lyrics, before Jeff outro solo: Anaheim!)
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Iha: Anaheim, California, how are you? Thank you so much for coming out tonight, we appreciate it. We are the Smashing Pumpkins, let’s rock.
Today
(approx. 60 second delay while Jeff has guitar trouble)
Iha: Ready to rock? Any second, we’re gonna rock. Like crazy.
We Only Come Out at Night (acoustic)
Cyr
Once in a Lifetime
Solara
Eye
(BC after 2nd chorus: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the rock show! We’re so pleased you’re with us tonight, we can’t thank you enough, thank you, thank you, thank you.)
(BC during outro singalong: Sing it with us! Come on, Anaheim! Come on!! Where are we, where are we?! One more time, one more time! Ow!)
> Ava Adore
(BC after Jimmy solo: Ow! Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin on the druuums! Get this party started. Ow. Heh heh ha ha ha ha.)
Iha: Thank you guys so much. Uh, I’d like to thank uh, Jane’s Addiction. Jane’s Addiction. A California legend. I’d like to thank Poppy as well for uh, making this uh, a special bill. And now...not--
BC: (high pitched) James.
Iha: We’re not gonna go off the rails.
BC: (high pitched, more insistent) James.
Iha: We’re just gonna play another song.
BC: (high pitched) James!
Iha: We’re gonna go right into it. No--
BC: (high pitched) James, I wanna ask you a question.
Iha: No bullshit. Alright, what’s the question?
BC: (high pitched) No bullshit, I’m just gonna ask you a question.
Iha: What’s -– what’s the question?
BC: (normal) How you doin’ tonight, James?
Iha: I’m good, I’m good, what do you got, how you doin’?
BC: You look good, you sound good.
Iha: Feelin’ good. Heh.
BC: Livin’ the California dream.
Iha: California dream. It’s great out here.
BC: Me, I’m livin’ some Goth dream over here.
Iha: Okay. Uh, well, you don’t have to rain on their parade.
BC: We’re so...we’re so appreciative you’re here with us tonight. I can’t tell you what it means to us to be back here. I could be wrong, but I don’t think I’m not, heh heh. I -– wait -– I could be wrong but I don’t think I am, thank you. I believe we played here 26 years ago.
Iha: I don’t remember. It’s possible.
BC: Well, not to bring down the mood, ‘cause you know me, I’m always wanna keep it up [sic], but uh....
Iha: Let’s keep it up then.
BC: This is a true story, I’m not bullshitting you.
Iha: You don’t have to go into a story.
BC: Around December of 1996, we played here two nights.
Iha: Here?
BC: Who was here?
Iha: Oh, great.
BC: A few people.
Iha: I like the Ducks, Anaheim Ducks.
BC: And the reason I remember that concert, it was the night my mother died. And we were on stage here and I walked off stage and somebody met me and said, “Oh, by the way, your mother died while you were on stage.” And then they said, “Do you wanna play tomorrow?” Heh, heh. Only in rock and roll. “Sorry your mom died. Hey, you wanna do that show tomorrow?” If you wonder why I’m so fucked up, there’s your answer right there.
Iha: Heh heh heh heh.
BC: Listen, sorrows aside, life aside, it’s amazing we’re here with you tonight, we’re –- it’s just amazing. I see all the people up there. Could we get the house lights up for a second? I wanna see everybody for a second. Look at all these beautiful people here, James...
Iha: Thank you...
BC: ...look at all these beautiful people...
Iha: ...thank you.
BC: ...unbelievable. Unbelievable.
Iha: Unbelievable. Thank you.
BC: We started this band 34 years ago. 34 years ago, we started this band.
Iha: A long time ago.
BC: And you know, it’s been nothing but star cakes and sunflowers and unicorns. We never had a fight, we never did –- just got along, it’s amazing. And that’s why we’re here, it’s a testament to our love.
Iha: I don’t remember the star cakes, but I’ll go along with that.
BC: Okay. Enough stalling, (coughs), got a little bit of a tickle, excuse me. This is my favorite part of the show because we get to dedicate this song to you. As we say in wrestling, to each and every one of you, we thank you for 34 years of the Smashing Pumpkins, it’s a little song we like to call Tonight, Tonight.
Tonight, Tonight (Billy/Iha acoustic)
Stand Inside Your Love
I of the Mourning
Iha: Ow! Thank you so much. Uh, I’d like to introduce the band. On vocals, all the way from Australia, Ms. Katie Cole. Katie Cole. On the bass, all the way from Manchester –- Manchester, England, Mr. Jack Bates. Local boy made good, from La Habra, California, Mr. Jeff Schroeder! La Habra, that’s a fun word to say. On the drums, Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin. On vocals and lead guitar, Mr. Billy Corgan.
Hot for Teacher (tease – Jeff)
Iha: Ho ho! Bustin’ out the Van Halen. In Anaheim. I’m James Iha and this is called Cherub Rock.
Cherub Rock
> Ain’t Talkin’ ‘bout Love (tease – slow, during Billy’s transition solo)
Iha: (half singing) I lost a lot of friends there, baby.
Zero
> Love Gun (tease)
1979
BC: Alright alright! At this time...I’d like to introduce to you the birthday boy himself. My son, Augustus Juppiter Corgan. Come here. Come here. So if you don’t mind indulging us, we’d like to sing a little Happy Birthday for Augustus.
Iha: Heh heh.
BC: He’s a little jetlagged.
Happy Birthday
Iha: Do you have anything you wanted to say? Alright, we’re gonna rock.
Beguiled
Silverfuck
(BC immediately after final lyrics: Anaheim, thank yoooooou!!!)
Iha: Thank you so much. Get home safe, thank you.
