Atum Intro
Quiet
> Empires
(BC before Jeff outro solo: Quebec City!)
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Iha: [cuts in] That’s all the French I speak. Uh, thanks for coming out though.
Today
We Only Come Out at Night (acoustic)
Cyr
Once in a Lifetime
Solara
Eye
(BC after 2nd chorus: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the rock show. We’re so happy you’re with us tonight, thank you so much for being with us here tonight.)
(BC during outro singalong: Sing it! This is Canada, right? That’s more like it, that’s more like it. Ow! One more time, one more time.)
Ava Adore
(BC after Jimmy solo: Ow! Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin! Oh yeah, oh yeah.)
Iha: [cuts in] Ça va? Ça va bien? Okay. We got the acoustic guitars out. You know what that means.
BC: It means you're gonna play some Gordon Lightfoot.
Iha: I like Gordon Lightfoot.
Sundown (tease)
BC: (singing) Sundown, you better take care. Unless I find you messin' down my back stairs.
Iha: I know this song. I know what it is. 'Bout that goddamn ship.
BC: James, how are you doin' tonight?
Iha: I'm doin' great, playin' Quebec City. Having a historical and awesome time.
BC: You know, when I look out in this crowd of young people, everyone below 30, it's unbelievable.
Iha: Heh heh heh. That's not us.
BC: So many young people here tonight, all under 30. But you know these kids, they just wanna hear the hits. Not like our generation that wanted the deep cuts and the jams, they want the hits. Kids -- the kids want the hits, you know it, I know it, they know it. Hahahaha. Hey, who's an old school Smashing Pumpkins fan here tonight? You know, back in those hazy, crazy days, James, we actually came here in 1996.
Iha: Oh yeah. I have no memory of that -- of that tour.
BC: You don't remember?
Iha: I don't remember, but that's great. Thank you.
BC: I remember!
Iha: Okay. Heh heh.
BC: You had the greatest concert of your life.
Iha: That's good.
BC: And uh -- heh. Anyway, I digress, as I do. Thank you so much for being with us tonight, we're so appreciative of you, we can't even tell you. He and I started this band 34 years ago.
Iha: Long ass time.
BC: Before everybody here was born, James, and uh...if you woulda told me all these years later, we'd be playing these songs to these lovely people, I wouldn't have believed you, but here we are, playing with Our Lady Peace again, which is fantastic, thank you, Our Lady Peace.
Iha: Thank you, Our Lady Peace.
BC: Thank you, Poppy.
Iha: Thank you, Poppy.
BC: Thank you so much.
Iha: Very nice people.
BC: They're nice people?
Iha: Yeah--
BC: You hang out in catering or what do you do?
Iha: I-I was! I was!
BC: I was in my dressing room.
Iha: They're like, this was the terrible part of the show, when they start doing this freewheeling bullshit, these dudes--
BC: These are hearty people! They live in a hundred degree below zero weather, they're not put off by some stage banter.
Iha: But they're like, "Let's hear the songs!"
BC: They fell trees. They make their own maple syrup...
Iha: They don't--
BC: ...they fuckin' rule the world...
Iha: They don't do that anymore!
BC: ...they're not worried about shit!
Iha: Nobody chops trees down here. Alright, clearly--
BC: This is some strong stock up here.
Iha: And what's amazing is--
BC: They know what life is about, unlike where we come from.
Iha: I think these little spigots they put on the trees they get maple syrup out of, it's very cute.
BC: Alright, enough bullshit! I love this part of the show because I get to say hello. Even though I'm a fuckin' freak. Still love and appreciate you. Behind my freakness. What am I, James, I don't know. I'm happy. And uh, I get to dedicate this song -- that I wrote in 1994 -- to everyone here. It's a little song you might remember called Tonight, Tonight.
Tonight, Tonight (Billy/Iha acoustic)
Stand Inside Your Love
I of the Mourning
Iha: [cuts in] Like to introduce the band. All the way from Manchester, England, Mr. Jack Bates. Jack Bates. Four strings. We can move on. All the way from Hollywood, California, on guitar, Mr. Jeff Schroeder! On dij -– on the drums, all the way from Illinois, Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin! On lead vocals, lead guitar, Mr. Billy Corgan! Alright, that’s it, that’s an introduction. What do you guys wanna hear? Heh heh. How about...the song that’s on our setlist, Cherub Rock.
