BC: Thank you very much.
D’arcy: Hola.
BC: Good evening, thank you very much, thank you. We'd now like to take this moment to welcome you and to introduce to you our new drummer.
D’arcy: He hasn't, he hasn’t, he hasn’t had much work lately, you know, and with the demise of Jim Henson - let's take a moment in prayer - Animal, Animal from the Muppets! Animal! Always, he has always been my idol.
BC: Heh. Alright man, if I fall over, keep playing, heh heh.
Cash Car Star
Blue Skies Bring Tears
> Stand Inside Your Love
> Glass and the Ghost Children
BC: Thank you very much, thank you so much. We really appreciate it, thank you. We'd like to ask, uh uh - I'll start again. We'd like to ask your indulgence for just one more new song. This is another song, heh heh heh, hello. We'd like to ask your indulgence for one more new song. This is a composition entitled Speed Kills.
Speed Kills
Ava Adore
Today (abandoned quickly)
D’arcy: Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. I'm really pissed off. This is a stupid two week tour, every night I go over by James and he will not dance with me. I wanna know why. The people want to know why.
Iha: Well....
Do You Want to Dance (tease - Billy plays guitar and sings first 7 words)
Iha: I like that song a lot. The truth be told, uh: during our hiatus after our last album, I've been taking swing dance lessons and I haven't, I haven’t quite perfected it yet and I didn’t figure the music we were doing was suited. Our next album will be a completely swing record.
(Jimmy briefly plays swing beat)
D’arcy: Yeah yeah, I knew you'd have a good excuse.
Iha: We've been listening to a lot of Louis Prima. Heh heh. Two shows only tonight, Smashing Pumpkins, thank you very much! We're gonna go back to an oldie but a goodie. Let's rock.
Today
BC: Thank you very much. We're suffering through this heat, god bless you, thank you.
[encore break]
Iha: Thank you very much. You guys have been really great. It's very hot and we appreciate your enthusiasm but you haven't yet fallen over. We never expect that much from a jaded L.A. crowd but you guys rock.
BC: 'Course all the people who made all the money off us are out in the hallway talking but uh, so you can thank them out the way out for taking our money ‘cause you gave it to us, so thanks a lot.
Iha: And uh, on to other things, we’re gonna go...back.
BC: It's a real good feeling to know you made someone a lot of money and they're just out there talking. Can't even watch the fucking show.
Iha: We're gonna go back to an old album of ours and uh, it's one of my favorites and I hope it's one of your favorites. This is called....
BC: Fruzzle.
Iha: Fruzzle, Muzzle.
(Billy hits the first note/word of Muzzle while James is saying Muzzle, then repeats 2x before starting the song properly)
Muzzle
Soma
BC: Thank you, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Encino, thank you.
[encore break]
If There is a God (Billy solo acoustic)
With Every Light (acoustic)
BC: We just go ahead and do the next one there, James? What do you think?
Iha: I think we're good to go...
BC: Uno mas.
Iha: ...okay, let's rock.
BC: I think you.... (high pitched) I think you need to - heh heh heh.
Iha: (high pitched) Alright, this next - heh heh. Ladies and gentlemen.... (normal) I can't do my rock imitation, I'm damaged from the heat. Alright, we shall rock again for one more rockin' song. Hold on to your seats. Well, maybe not, you don't have any seats so...any uh....
BC: Let's get these house lights on for a second, brother. Turn 'em up! Let's see some faces, let's see some peoples.
Iha: (high pitched) How are you doing out there, are you feeling alright? I can't hear you! (normal) Alright.
BC: One more for brutality's sake.
Geek U.S.A.
BC: God bless all you motherfuckers, thank you.
