Notes[edit | edit source]

  • "1979" with Jimmy Flemion
  • "Thru the Eyes of Ruby" contains a unique extended intro
  • Billy Corgan ejects an audience member during the pause in the middle of "Porcelina of the Vast Oceans" for throwing something at the stage; reportedly it was a shoe, although Corgan says "...it’s not a good idea to throw metal at us"
  • First performance of "Landslide" since 1993-09-12

Banter[edit | edit source]

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Intro
> Where Boys Fear to Tread
> Zero
Fuck You
BC: Good evening, thanks very much.
By Starlight
“Thank you for participating” tape
> Tonight, Tonight
BC: Thank you very much. Thanks everybody for coming to the show. This is, um, one of the few happy Smashing Pumpkins songs. And it will, uh, probably be the last one, so uh, we hope you enjoy it while it lasts.
Today
Cherub Rock
> Planet of the Apes clip
> Thru the Eyes of Ruby (w/long intro)
BC: Thank you very much.
Galapogos (acoustic)
BC: Thank you so much.
Disarm (acoustic)

Iha: Ho ho ho, thank you, thank you very much. You’re very kind. So, how is everyone who I can’t see?
Tribute to Johnny (tease - Billy plays the main riff once)
Iha: Yes, we’re gonna do some Johnny Winter songs.
Muzzle
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
(BC at 5:34, right before “and in the slipstream”: Would somebody like to tell this guy who just threw this that it’s not a good idea to throw metal at us. You, right there. The guy with the flashlight, yes. Right there. Bye, get out of my concert. No, behind you, behind you, turn around, there he is, right there, thank you, goodbye.)
> La Dolly Vita (tease)
[encore break]
The Ethers Tragic (tease)
> X.Y.U.
[encore break]
BC: Thank you.
Landslide (Billy/Iha acoustic)
BC: Thank you.
Iha: Ladies and gentlemen, you’re perhaps perplexed at the man to my left. This man is our special guest, he comes from the oh-so-great city of Milwaukee. Ladies and gentlemen, a round of applause for Jimmy Frog! Yes. Jimmy Frog, everybody. Let’s just wave to Jimmy; Jimmy, wave back. Alright. Another introduction which I’m sure you’re equally excited about. On the keyboards, his brother -- yes, his brother -- from the oh-so-great city of Milwaukee, ladies and gentlemen, Dennis Frog! He just said -- and you couldn’t hear him ‘cause he wasn’t miked -- but he said “Love you.” Yes. And now, the man behind the drums, all the way from Wilmette, Matt “Cosmo” Walker. Yes, Matt is an old family friend of ours and, uh, his father used to ice fish with my father. They’ve known each other for generations and he’s agreed to come out and tour with us and uh.... For this next song, I encourage you to -- we don’t do it much at our shows because most of our shows are rock -- but I encourage you to dance.
1979 (with Jimmy Flemion)
Jimmy Frog: Ladies and gentlemen!
Iha: Ladies and gentlemen, a warm round of applause for Jimmy Frog. The green angel. We’re glad you could boogie with us on that one number. We don’t boogie often but when we do, watch out. And now, we go back in time when days were simpler, before grunge. Yes, we’re going back to our first--
BC: Pre-grunge.
Iha: Pre-grunge.
BC: There was a time before grunge.
Iha: Before flannel. This is from our first album, we hope you dig it, man.
Siva
(BC during Iha solo before bridge: Mr. James Iha on the lead guitar. You know, James would like to sprinkle those kisses upon your head. And yes, leave you wishing for more in his bed. And he says, "Ahh...I'm confused." Missed the part where we go to the C chord. No? Hahahahahaha! Well, everyone's just got their own agenda 'bout right now. (band stops) And she says, "Aww, why do I feel so dead?" (back into song))
[encore break]
Silverfuck / Dose / Worms
(BC at 21:13: We’d like to thank everyone for sticking around to the end of the show. Thank you very much, everybody. We’ve had a great time, we hope you had a good time too. See you on the other side or maybe next time. We are the Smashing Pumpkins, thank you.)
