Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Intro
> Where Boys Fear to Tread
> Zero
BC: Hello! It's good to see you, thank you for coming, we're the Smashing Pumpkins.
Fuck You
To Forgive
Classical music tape
> Tonight, Tonight
Iha: Indianapolis Rock City. I know we're not Kiss or anything but we're trying.
BC: You know uh, I know they had that whole dispute this year with the Indianapolis 500 where a lot of the people raced in Michigan, right? (crowd boos)
Iha: Oh!
BC: I know, it's kind of bogus, but...they did let a lot of new drivers drive this year and I don't know if anybody saw it, but James actually won the race here in Indianapolis.
Iha: Thank you, thank you very much.
BC: Of course, all the other guys ran out of fuel and he actually ran over the finish line, but he did win!
Iha: It was a uh, it was a small victory for myself, thank you.
Thru the Eyes of Ruby
> By Starlight
BC: Thank you, I love you too. Excuse me while I tune my acoustic guitar.
Iha: Wow, that's gonna sound pretty sassy there.
BC: Uhh, if you could roll a little bit of the bottom end out of it then. So, how are you? It's really cool to be back, I think the last time we were here we got booed, um, because we were being so difficult, so thanks for coming back. Of course, you know, you probably understand these songs better than most people do because we're kind of from the same part of the world and...all those fancy people on the east and west coast, they don't dig this kind of hokum humor stuff.
Iha: That's right.
BC: So thank you so much, it's great to have you here with us.
Disarm (acoustic)
Circus tape
> Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Cherub Rock
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans / Rocket
BC: Thank you so much.
Iha: Are you still with us? We hope we didn't space you out too much.
BC: Like to play our uh, probably one of our favorite songs for you. It's called Muzzle.
D’arcy: Thank you.
[encore break]
Iha: Alright! Thank you very much...for making us feel just like Kiss. Thank you.
BC: Except we're twenty years younger, but....
Iha: Wow. We’ll pick up right here.
BC: Thanks a lot.
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (tease)
Iha: (Alright! Indianapolis. [unintelligible] may fear you, check out this dope beat. Come on, I can’t hear you. Making that sound, all the funky...funky dope ass beat, come on. Yes, we’re very glad to be here [unintelligible]. [unintelligible sentence]. (Jimmy starts soloing) On the drums, fuckin’ Jimmy Chamberlin! I can’t hear you! Come on! Put it up for Jimmy Chamberlin. (band goes back into song) Ow, slappin’ that dope ass beat there. We suggest if you’re thirsty, at this time you can go get a Coke or a...(band stops)...I don’t know, some Chiclets.)
BC: Ready, Steve?
Iha: Ready, Larry!
BC: Ready, Fred? Ready, Tony? (high pitched) Let's go!
[encore break]
D’arcy: Thank you oh so very much. We've played--we’ve played a lot of shows in Indianapolis and this is definitely way, by far, the very best. Thank you for your support and hospitality, it's really been a fun show for us to play and you know we don't just say that.
BC: Yeah, it's true. Heh. We are honest.
BC: God bless you, thank you.
[encore break]
Iha: Alright! Thank you. You are quite a rocking crowd. Thank you. [unintelligible] in space.
BC: Uh, we don't talk much after this, so...goodnight, goodbye, you're the best, thank you.
Iha: Set the controls for the sun, goodbye.
> Silverfuck / Space Jam / Dose
Farewell and Goodnight
(below is over piano outro)
D’arcy: Thank you.
Jimmy: Thank you.
BC: Goodnight James!
Iha: Goodnight.
BC: Goodnight Jimmy. Hey Jimmy!
Jimmy: Yo.
BC: Jimmy! Goodnight, see you later. D’arcy....
Iha: See you on--see you on the bus.
BC: [unintelligible]
Iha: Goodnight everybody, you’ve been great, thanks, thanks very much. Bye.
> Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (tease)
BC: God bless you, thank you.
