Geek U.S.A.
(BC alt last line: I fuckin’ hate the U.S.A.!)
Rocket
> Quiet
BC: Good evening! Welcome to the show. Um, for those of you who continue to yell out songs, we don’t take requests. Hey, we’re not just another band down at the pub, you know what I mean? This next song, we were lucky to do on The Word the other day, The Word, which is–- (crowd cheers) The Word, which is absolutely the worst television program I’ve ever seen. (crowd cheers even louder)
Iha: I really liked it.
BC: (laughing) You liked The Word?
Iha: I thought it was very funny, intriguing, had a lot of interesting things to say.
BC: He was jealous ‘cause he wasn’t in that Mr. College Dickhead contest.
Iha: Well...being an alternative person, I thought that it intrigued me with its ideas, I mean, I thought you people like that show. Eh?
Disarm (abandoned after Iha talks over the intro)
Iha: Let me see a sea of evil hands, a sea of evil hands, people!
(Billy stops playing and the crowd is disappointed)
BC: No, wait a sec, I have to interject here, okay? There was an article in the Melody Maker about us asking to see a sea of hands and obviously, the idiot who wrote the piece didn’t understand that it’s a joke, a joke.
Iha: A sea of evil hands! Evil!
BC: We must inform you that this is a joke, we are not Lenny Kravitz. Thank you.
(Billy starts Disarm again)
Iha: Come on, people, you know it. As seen on The Word.
Disarm
> Today
Cherub Rock
BC: Many thanks to our wonderful opening bands, Rollerskate Skinny and Smash. (light cheering) That’s it, that’s all you care about other bands?
Iha: That’s sort of half-hearted. (larger crowd response)
BC: Support your local music!
Drown
> Hummer
Siva
Soma
BC: Thanks.
[encore break]
Iha: Thank you.
Bury Me
BC: Thank you very much. You’re very kind.
Rhinoceros
BC: Thanks, goodnight.
