The Chicago Code is an American crime drama TV series that ran from February 7 to May 23, 2011. The opening theme was composed by Robert Duncan and sung by Billy Corgan. There is only about a minute and a half of the song recorded, as the producers were only interested in a theme song. For this reason, Corgan has said a proper release of the song will not happen.[1]

In addition to Billy Corgan singing the theme song, music by The Smashing Pumpkins was featured on the show. "A Song for a Son" is played during "Black Hand and the Shotgun Man" (Season 1, Episode 7).[2] The scene involves a child being laid to rest.

Lyrics[edit | edit source]

who's gonna hear you cry
when there's more of them than there are of you
who's gonna hear you cry
when the high winds come and it takes your breath
who's gonna hear your voice
when fallen men wanna cut you down
and the sun is gone
in the dead of night in this town
who's gonna hear you cry
