Schwa Productions was a recording studio in Chicago, and is where The Smashing Pumpkins' first demo tape was recorded. The owner was Paul Chabala, who was engineer for the self-titled demo album. He was also a regular sound assistant at the Avalon Niteclub, where the Pumpkins frequently performed at in their early days. In the banter of the August 10, 1988 performance – the first with bassist D'arcy Wretzky – Billy Corgan can be heard thanking Chabala. It was at this show that the two met.
The studio existed at the North Lincoln Ave location for about three years.
