On this night in 2016, during an 'In Plainsong: An Acoustic-Electro Evening' performance at the Ace Hotel Theatre in Los Angeles, James Iha joined Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin on stage for the first time since the farewell show on December 2, 2000.

March 26 is also Iha's birthday. He played guitar for "Mayonaise" (which he co-wrote with Corgan) through "Disarm", and re-joined the band for the encore. The band and the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" just before closing the night with "Amarinthe". Iha would also guest with the band on their next Los Angeles date the following day, and officially rejoin the band by 2018. The March 27 date also featured Mike Garson on piano for "Space Oddity".
